In 2015, UNC's acclaimed College of Performing and Visual Arts designed a certificate to provide undergraduate students with the business and marketing skills to manage and promote their arts careers. This Arts Entrepreneurship Certificate was built in collaboration with UNC's also renowned Monfort College of Business.
Coursework covers entrepreneurship skills, self-promotion and business planning, tailored specifically for the arts focus of each student (Art & Design, Music, or Theatre Arts & Dance).
This certificate is now also offered online through UNC Extended Campus as a standalone program so that artists and performers who aren't already UNC students can add these critical entrepreneurial skills. Online students will be able to take 1 or 2 courses per term. The tuition for the online program is the same low rate for residents and non-residents, and students can start the certificate any term.
