New UNC Brewing Laboratory Science Certificate Starts January 2016

This UNC Certificate Prepares Graduates for Quality Control and Assurance roles in Brewing

The new Brewing Laboratory Science Certificate is a 9-credit undergraduate level program focused on laboratory science practices that maintain quality control and assurance for brewing.

The UNC Extended Campus delivery option allows future brewing scientists to pursue the certificate as a standalone program. Students will complete an online course during Spring term and gain practical experience at the new UNC brewery for six weeks at the beginning of Summer term.

The rapid growth of new breweries has led to a critical need for brewing professionals who can address quality and consistency issues that are important to long-term success. Those who earn this certificate will be able to apply proper brewing techniques using methods prescribed by the American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC).
