Application Deadline

Students will be admitted once a year via a competitive admission process. Applications must be postmarked by February 15 each year. Applicants will be notified of decision by April 3.

Application Process

UNC's Dietetics and Nutrition Department coordinates the oversight of your internship with the assistance of the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Service (DICAS). You will complete your internship through UNC, working with the Dietetics and Nutrition Department, but are not required to apply to UNC for full admission.

International Students

In addition to any application steps listed above, you will also need to prepare the following for your application:

  • Demonstration of Language proficiency – TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or petition for exemption
  • Copy of passport bio page**
  • Financial Documentation** – we will need to verify that you can financially cover the estimated costs (tuition, fees, room, board, insurance, books, supplies, travel) of the time you will be in the U.S. Those applying to programs that last longer than 1 year will only need to provide proof for the first year at the time of application.
