Your courses are entirely online which allows you to continue working while obtaining your master's degree.
If you are not a licensed teacher, you will also need to take the Professional Teacher Education (PTEP) courses for state licensure. Please visit the School of Education's PTEP page for more information.
The total number of courses needed for completion of this master's degree will depend on your previous coursework and if you have your initial teacher licensure (see above). The program will do a transcript review when you apply and provide you with a plan of study, but you can review the requirements below for a general idea of which courses you might need.
For full details, see the official program listing in the UNC Graduate Catalog.
For an example of upcoming courses, visit the Current Program Students page.
These courses are listed as prerequisites in the catalog, though you can complete them while in the program; they are not required for initial program admission.
Students are required to complete a sign language proficiency test which will be administered before each student's practicum placement.
