The teacher licensure coursework, known as the PTEP sequence, begins each summer term. However, your chosen content area may determine which term is optimal for you to start the program. Methods courses for Math, English, and Theatre are scheduled the Spring term prior to the PTEP core and require an earlier admission.
Priority Application Deadline: December 1
Rolling Admissions Thereafter: after the Priority Application deadline, spots are filled on a first-come, first served basis for qualified applicants through April 15. Please contact the Program & Enrollment Manager about available space after the deadline, as we are often able to add sections to accommodate high need.
Fall Admission: July 15
Spring Admission: November 15

You will apply to the program and then submit additional materials:
K-12 Education Licensure material requirements will vary based on your chosen content area. Expect to provide 2-3 letters of recommendation and the Statement of Goals noted above. Resumes and/or work samples may also be required. Contact your K-12 PTEP Content Advisor to find out the additional material requirements.
Once you apply to the UNC Graduate School and your application packet is complete, your application will be reviewed by the graduate school then sent to the faculty/program for an admission decision. A completed application typically takes four to six weeks to process.
