Confluence Institute 2021: Focus on Watershed
A Summer 2021 Workshop for K-8 Teachers
Delivered in partnership with the Poudre Learning Center in Greeley with additional requirements online.
Confluence Institute includes activities, field research and tours; which will help in building the participants understanding of basic watershed concepts especially as related to the Cache la Poudre & South Platte Watersheds. It will also explore current water issues in north central and northeastern Colorado.
The focus this year will help to understand the impact of the recent fires on the watershed. By learning about the watershed around them through this program, participants will connect the information and activities provided to the new 2020 Science Standards and NGSS disciplinary core idea at their grade level. A Project Wet Activity Guide will be provided. Activities within the Guide will be modeled during the Institute.
