Fast-Track Teacher Preparation Program for Blended Instruction
Online Summer (July 8- Aug. 8) Educational Technology Workshop
The Fast-Track Teacher Preparation Program for Blended Instruction is a competency-based, micro-credentialed program designed to equip teachers with skill sets in implementing blended and online instruction, integrating technology for student engagement and self-directed learning, creating digital content, and incorporating Open Educational Resources (OER) into existing curriculum. The program is comprised of four micro-credentials, each meeting ADDIE requirements of Analyze, Design and Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. Content is delivered via live and recorded webinars, on-demand videos and podcasts, and supplemental reading material.
The four micro-credentials include Introduction to Blended Instruction, Best Practices in Blended Instruction, Creating Digital Content, and Introduction to OER (optional micro-credential, which provides educators access to some of iLC’s student course templates from its Digital Content Warehouse repository).
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to...
- Implement blended instruction using one or more models: Flex, A La Carte, Enriched Virtual, Flipped, Station Rotation.
- Integrate technology for student engagement and self-directed learning.
- Design, develop, and deliver digital content.
- Integrate Open Educational Resources (OER) into existing curriculum.
Grading will be Pass/Fail: students are expected to earn Demonstrated in all ADDIE requirements as outlined in each competency/unit.
