Loveland Relocation Questions & Answers
We recognize that many of you chose an off-campus learning environment for reasons that were important to you, and we understand that this transition may require adjustments. If you have already taken classes at the Loveland Center, you’ve likely built meaningful relationships with classmates and faculty and found a sense of community there. We know this change may feel unexpected or even disappointing.
Please know that we are committed to supporting you throughout this transition and helping make it as smooth as possible. While some aspects of the move may require changes to your routine, we are confident that our Greeley campus will provide new opportunities to connect with classmates, faculty and the broader UNC community. Whether you attend classes in Loveland, Greeley or online, you are—and always will be—a valued member of the UNC Bear community.

The university continually evaluates how and where we deliver academic programs to ensure students have access to the highest-quality learning environment and support services. Relocating classes to the Greeley Main Campus allows us to bring students together in a setting that offers greater access to faculty, specialized classrooms and technology, academic resources, student services, campus events and the broader UNC community. Our goal is to provide a more connected and enriching student experience while continuing to support your progress toward graduation.
Where can I find details about my new classroom location?
Your Current Students Page (choose undergraduate or graduate to find the page for your program) houses all details about your class, including location/time/dates. The page for your program is updated every term, so we recommend that you bookmark it for future reference. You can also check your Registration dashboard on MyUNC.
How will parking work on the Greeley campus? Will I have to pay? Will parking be free for the duration of my program, or just for the summer term?
Students whose classes have been relocated from the Loveland Center to the Greeley Main Campus will not be required to pay for parking for the summer 2026 term. The University has established a process to provide parking access at a reduced cost for the fall 2026 & spring 2027 terms, so you can focus on your coursework rather than additional transportation expenses. More information about how to obtain your parking access and where to park will be shared before your first class on the Greeley campus.
Please also note that UNC parking lots only require a permit from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, so your need for a permit depends on the timing of your courses. You can also pay for hourly parking instead of a permit if you will need very limited hours of permitted parking time.
What tools or resources are available to help me navigate the Greeley Campus?

Are there safe and affordable hotel options close to campus? Do I have the option to leverage on-campus housing for my stay?

Can can use the friends and family discount of 15% off the regular rate. Before booking, click on “Special Rates” first, and in the Corporate Account box, enter the code P17. Are there kitchen facilities and quiet study spaces I can use on campus?
There are multiple student lounges and quiet areas across campus available to you. You’ll also have full access to the University Libraries, including reserve study rooms.
I have never been to Greeley before. What is near campus?

Do I need to have a UNC ID card now that I will be on the Greeley campus?
We suggest that you obtain a UNC ID card as this will be how you access campus resources. Many local restaurants and stores will also offer discounts to UNC students with ID! If you do not have an ID, you can obtain one by following these steps: UNC Card Office.
What safety resources and services are available on the Greeley campus?
The UNC Police Department is available 24/7 to protect and support. They are available to walk students to cars if you do not feel safe at night. Learn more about Campus Safety.
Will UNC reimburse students for gas and other travel expenses? Will this reimbursement last throughout the duration of my program, or only for Summer 2026?
While the University is not providing direct reimbursement for gas or other travel expenses, we recognize that relocating classes to the Greeley Main Campus may create additional inconveniences for some students. To help support those affected by this transition, UNC has identified adjustments to financial aid for eligible students. We are committed to continuing to evaluate student needs and exploring ways to provide support throughout the transition.
Will my tuition rate change from the Extended Campus rate to Main Campus rate?
No! Even though your classes will now be in Greeley, you are still part of an Extended Campus program and you will be charged the Extended Campus rate. See Extended Campus tuition rates, or you can also find the rate for your program on your Current Students Page.
Will relocating to Greeley have any impact on Financial Aid?
No. Relocating your classes from the Loveland Center to the Greeley Main Campus will not affect your financial aid eligibility or award.
Is Extended Campus closing? Am I being moved to a main campus program?
No. Your Extended Campus program is not closing. The location of your classes is simply being changed to Greeley instead of Loveland.
Will faculty accommodate lateness caused by work schedule conflicts or commuting challenges?
Please contact your advisor to discuss work schedule conflicts as soon as possible.
Will this change anything about the degree or credential I am awarded?
No. Delivery location does not impact your program name, credential achieved, or the certificate/endorsement/diploma that you earn. Our faculty ensure that you receive the same level of instruction no matter where they are teaching you. Most instructors who taught at Loveland have taught on campus as well.
I have already been admitted to the Extended Campus Loveland site. Will I need to submit a new application, or request a site change?
Any required updates to your student record will be managed by the appropriate UNC office, so no action is needed on your part.
I need more time to prepare for this transition. Can I delay my start term?
You have the option to defer your admission for up to one year. Please check in with your Program Coordinator to discuss how this may affect your start date and course sequencing.
