Institute for Creative Teaching
ART (Visual Arts) 513-600 Professional Renewal
Graduate Credit for Reflection on the 2026 Institute: Healing, Restoration and Wellness
This course will allow you to consider themes of place through artmaking, discussion and reflection . We will discuss what home means to us, how we create places for ourselves and how the places we inhabit create us. We will also examine displacement, loss and living “in between” significant places in our lives. We will apply the practices of examining contemporary art and making art ourselves to how we provide spaces and places of learning and growth to students.
This course will allow participants to explore the themes presented at the Institute for Creative Teaching through further reading, artmaking, conversation, and reflection.
Course is graded satisfactory/unsatisfactory.
