A Special Education Course for Supporting DeafBlind Learners
This two-day session will cover comprehensive functional low vision assessments procedures and tools, skills for interpreting medical reports, psychosocial considerations, optical device training, instructional strategies, and key equipment and resources to address the near and distance vision, contrast sensitivity, and field loss needs of students with low vision.
Course is graded satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

Non-Degree-Seeking Students
Non-degree-seeking graduate status refers to a student who has earned at least a bachelor’s degree and who either:
- Has applied to UNC Graduate School and has not yet been admitted.
- Wishes to take this graduate course but not pursue a degree.
Please note, as a non-degree seeking student, you are not eligible for federal financial aid for this course.
